Putting an Animal Down

So today my thoughts go out to my dog Garbot (Gar-Bo) who was put down yesterday. I found out today that we had to put her down because she could no longer walk, she was anemic, and she also had some problems with her pancreas. She's about the same age I am. Now something I've been confused about for a long time is how you could put an animal down. I distinctly remember when my friend's dad had to put their dog down. My friend screamed and screamed at her dad telling him he killed the dog. This confuses me. On one hand, yes the dog clearly would've lived longer if it hadn't of been put down. The question is how long? Minutes? hours? days? So it does make me angry that my grandma put our dog down, BUT although the dog would've lived longer, it would've lived that much longer in misery. When you have so many things wrong with you to the point where you can't walk, hear, see or eat, what is the point of living? I feel like in most cases this severe, putting the dog down is the right thing to do. The dog doesn't suffer, and you know that you won't have to come home from work someday to see your dog dead on the floor. I guess there are two ways to see it. I just want to say I am so thankful for the years that Garbot did live and my other dog Mabel as well.  I'm thankful they were put down when they needed to be. It was what was best. My extra love goes out to them both. I hope this helps anyone in a tough situation! Animals cannot talk, and whichever decision you eventually make, I'm sure it's what is best. Hopefully you see both sides a little better! Thanks for reading!

Graduations

Lately I've been thinking about graduations! I mean, how could you not? End of the year Facebook invitations to grad parties, yearbooks, commercials, advertisements, and filled streets. Cakes, balloons, and of course the pictures everywhere. I know you've been thinking about graduations whether you're out of school, stuck in school, or graduating yourself! But my question is, what do you get someone as a grad present? I'm invited to my share of grad parties, but have no idea what I'm expected to arrive with. Money is more of a relative thing, and nobody keeps the teddy bears that have "you're graduating!" Sewn into them. So I went ahead and did some research. I came to the conclusion that a grad party is just another birthday party. Bottom line being: regardless of the occasion, a gift is a gift and these graduating kids would much rather have something they can use than that "you're graduating!" Teddy bear.  I'm just saying. They do also like money. Ha!

Moving

So I'm going to jump right into it today. I'm moving soon and so I've been thinking about the ups and downs that go along with that. If you're moving soon, or if you move a lot, this could be helpful to you to maybe see things more positively. Maybe you'll realize you don't want to move. I don't know. I'm not you! I want to talk about my top 3 pros and cons about moving! The first thing I thought about was buying all new highschool apparel. Honestly, that's what was on my mind. This is a con of course because high school kids are super involved in school and wear all the school colors and apparel. How am I supposed to replace all that?! The second con for me is that I have to move away from my friends. I finally have friends in this neighborhood, and I don't like that I have to leave. It'll take me forever to find new friends and find my way around a new neighborhood and city. The last con is probably that if I end up wanting to continue attending my current highschool, I'd have to drive every morning, which basically means a lot of gas. That leads to bankruptcy, and soon after I'm living alone with 50 cats. Has anyone considered this? On a happier note, there actually are some pros to moving. For starters you get to switch houses and redecorate. For me this will be a good upgrade as I'll have two closets and I can finally paint walls! I think a change of scenery is good. Secondly, you get a lot better with directions. Although it can be hard to learn your way around at first, you start to see how everything connects! And lastly, you sometimes get a fresh start with your friends. Once again, this can be tough, but sometimes you meet people you wouldn't normally have met, and I think that's something special! I've experienced that through moving first hand.

Hopefully you enjoyed my view on things! Feel free to like or share or whatever! Thanks !

Think of the Week

Today I have to talk about something that a ton of people do, and it absolutely drives me insane! There are people that have done it, and there are liars. And no, it's not peeing in the shower. The thing that drives me absolutely crazy is when people google their medical symptoms and then try to do some kind of self-diagnosis. This wouldn't bother me so much if it was accurate at all, but you have people that have a common cold reading online thinking they have bronchitis and pneumonia combined, because yahoo answers told them so. I regret to inform you that most of the people on yahoo answers are not medically trained and can only go off of their personal experiences. If you are having some kind of weird issue, its fine to get some opinions, but you do not need to go insane thinking you have polio until a doctor tells you that you do. Keeping in mind that sometimes doctors can be wrong as well.

Aside from not freaking yourself out about your yahoo diagnosis, you should probably not go around making other people worry about you as well. The only time I had ever done this was when I had a swollen lymph node from getting my teeth pulled, and I had everyone thinking I had cancer. Funny how the people on yahoo were wrong, huh? I'm sorry if this comes off as a rant, but nobody on yahoo is concerned about your well being and if you need medical advice, you can always contact a doctor or nurse! Thanks so much for reading! Thoughts About Practice

Lately I've been wondering about practicing certain skills that you may have. More specifically, how influential practice really is and what it is. The first example that comes to mind is drawing. When small children draw, they typically have no idea what they're doing and no matter how many times mothers say the drawings are amazing, let's be real, they really aren't. Now what I don't understand is that when children grow up, they become so much better at drawing without even practicing it. At what point during life does that weird potato shaped object finally blossom into a distinguishable person without practice?! I don't learn instruments without practicing. I wonder if it may have to do with the fact that as you grow you become more aware of your surroundings and you become more able to transfer that onto paper. Or maybe I'm wrong and I'll never know! But that's my think of the week for you guys ! Thanks for reading!

Some Thinks for You!

Okay, so this week I couldn't really focus on just one thing to talk about, considering that my mind was all over the map. I haven't thought of any one thing continuously, but a few things have been going through my head repeatedly for the past week. I think I'll just talk about two of them. My first thought is about school buses. I don't know who came up with the idea to make wearing a seat-belt part of the law, but allowed there to be an exception if you have over 50 children in one vehicle. Is this serious? The tall seats inside the bus do not help anything. Kids these days are crazy, and they will sit on top of the back rests, and on the floor as well. If my bus specifically ever gets in a crash, I could guarantee that people would be seriously injured. If you require them in one vehicle, they should be required in all vehicles. Now that I've covered that, I need to talk about this whole Pinocchio problem that's been taking up space in my brain. If Pinocchio says "my nose is about to grow" would it grow or not? Technically he's lying because he doesn't know if his nose is about to grow, but if it does grow then he'd be telling the truth. I don't know if I can figure this out. This is stressing me out! Feel free to comment below if you have an answer! That's all I have for you guys today. I hope to enjoyed reading and continue to read!

Quick Think of the Week

My first think goes out to my boyfriend Corey, for informing me that Queen Elizabeth the second owns a cruise ship that can only travel six inches for each gallon of diesel that it burns. Now here's where my thinking comes in. If this cruise ship only gets six inches to every gallon of gas that it has, and the ship can hold 4,600 gallons of gas, that means the ship can travel 27,600 inches without running out of fuel. This equates to 2,300 feet. Considering that there are 5,280 feet in a mile, this would mean that the Queen's entire cruise ship can only travel 2.3 miles without running out of gas. Looks like they probably won't make it that far, and it's probably a little difficult to turn a cruise ship around. I'm sure the ship probably has multiple ways to keep the ship going. I read about it online, and apparently they can generate their own energy which they would need 50 people for. Other websites say that the ship can travel 10-12 days without stopping. However, assuming the information I chose to use is correct, this whole thing is pretty funny! It's almost shocking that they would only be able to go that far. I guess it's for the best that they have multiple ways to keep going! That's my quick think of the week, guys! Thanks for reading! I wonder what I'll write about next week!
