Walmart Shopping

Okay readers I'm back this week to talk about Walmart and what I like and dislike about it. I'll be referencing the Maple Grove store. Walmart is an interesting place to be for many reasons and although it has a terrible reputation I don't think it's the worst place to be on the planet. Yesterday my sister and I happened to make a trip to Walmart since it was Easter and Target was closed. This sounds bad already, but yes it's true. Target is my first choice. Anyways. we decided to head off to Walmart.
There are some good things about Walmart that I think a lot of people don't even realize. The first thing I feel is that Walmart has a lot of things Target doesn't carry and Walmart has them for cheap. I've realized you can get good products from Walmart at decent prices. I definitely prefer to shop at Walmart when I'm on a budget. Yesterday I found an electric oil warmer to replace my old one and it was only six dollars. It works very well and even has a sleek design. Another good thing about Walmart is that everything is on clearance. I don't know if you all have ventured to the front right corner of Walmart past all of the makeup, but they have this HUGE wall and three or four isles of all clearance. Clearance makeup, toys, gardening stuff, nail care items, shampoo and other hair care essentials, and even bedding. They seriously threw everything you need into one corner and put it on clearance. The funny thing is that they put some stuff on clearance that isn't even on clearance in the other parts of the store. I just love that part of Walmart. It feels like I'm stealing makeup.
Now, I guess I have to talk about the cons of going to Walmart. If you're trying to find something, add an extra 20 minutes onto the 10 you originally planned for. I've noticed Walmart is messy and sometimes there are barriers and things shouldn't be next to what they are. For example, if you want a pet fish you can find it next to the craft supplies. I would say most people also get sucked into Walmart because there's just so much going on. There are so many things to look at and so much clearance it's just hard to be in there for five minutes. The other con to going to Walmart is the staff. I do NOT want to make generalizations. That being said, in the Maple Grove store specifically the staff will rarely be able to help you. I waited 20 minutes once for a staff member to get me a pet fish and they gave me completely false information after I got the fish. They can never answer my questions either. I've learned to not expect much from the staff. If I go to Walmart I find what I need alone, I do my research at home about the product, and I tend to use self checkout. I have had some very good staff members help me checkout, however I've had very negative experiences with Walmart staff in the past. Another time was when I wanted a volleyball and I had to wait for the staff member to figure out if they have ever even had volleyballs in stock at Walmart. Some of the staff just lack general knowledge about the store which is completely fine for me because I go into Walmart knowing that this is the case. Actually thinking about it now, the Walmart in Denver actually had very helpful and capable staff members. If I lived in Denver I'd probably go to Walmart more often than Target.
Alright that's all I have for this week. I was just thinking about it because I went yesterday and figured I'd write about it. I hope it made sense because my thoughts about Walmart are very scattered. Anyways, I hope you continue to read my posts! I hit 1,500 views today which is awesome! You guys are the best.

Worst Movie Theater Experiences

Hello readers! I actually am really excited to share this post today because I've had some pretty hilarious things happen during my time at the movie theater and also some pretty terrible things but I think they're pretty funny as well.  Maybe you can read this and just laugh, or maybe you can relate because you've had similar experiences. Either way,  here I go.
When I sat down to think about the worst experiences I've had, the one that came to mind was bathroom incident number one. I say number one because we have multiple bathrooms and therefor multiple incidents. That being said this one stood out the most. I was taking tickets at my theater when a man approached me on the right. I would say mid 50's. He ever so graciously informed me that the men's bathroom was flooding. Okay. Thank you sir I'll get right on that. So I sent my coworker Garrett because I was not about to dive into that issue. Garrett returns to the bathroom with no explanation and hands the cleaning supplies to Joey who willingly accepts the challenge. I still have no idea what's going on. Joey then walks out with a disgusted face and Colin, being the nice guy he is, decides its too much for Joey to do on his own and so Colin joins him in the restroom. Upon their return I just about died laughing when I discovered that someone had not only shoved paper towels into the urinal which caused it to overflow, but they smeared human waste all over the handrails in the bathroom. Lovely. We do appreciate the effort to keep the theater clean! All said and done I'm just glad It was the men's bathroom.
The other experiences are definitely less satisfying to hear about. We have the occasional "sneaky" teenagers who try to sneak into the monster screen located directly behind the usher. Oh and who could forget the kids who ask my coworker Ben if he's a girl? Granted, he does have long hair but you really can't miss the beard.
The last thing I remembered that stood out actually happened a few times but I'll tell the story like it only happened once. I was standing in a theater at the end of American Sniper waiting for the guests to leave so I could sweep. Now I don't know if it's me standing there that makes people nervous because they make eye contact with the one who's about to clean up their mess but EVERY TIME I stand in the theater some kid walks out and drops a pop or an icee right in front of my eyes. Like he sees me and his arms fail to respond to his brains cues telling him to keep hold of his cup. Every time they drop something it's accompanied with an "OH GOD!" or "Avdkfkfbsj!!!" and then they run away from me. I don't know how else to explain it.  So there you go, guys. That's my life at the theater.

Children's Birthday Parties

Hello readers!  Today I just have a super quick blog post about my opinion on having birthday parties for small children. I'm talking ages zero to three. My cousin had a birthday party today so it was just on my mind! My personal opinion is that having birthday parties for kids that age is irrelevant. The only reason I'd consider having one at that age would be for pictures, but in all honesty  it would seem weird to accept presents for a child that age as an adult. It seems like just another baby shower for the first few years if you know what I mean! This might just be me and I also don't have children. I think I see more value in a family party for the child. This way you still have the memory but you don't have people sending you presents just because you threw a party. It also seems like a huge waste of money to go crazy for a child's first birthday that they probably aren't even old enough to understand. I am not quite sure! I'd love to have some people comment with why they think parents throw small children parties! Is it for the child or more of a social event for the parents? I can see that making sense as well. This is just something I haven't quite understood for a long time and want to know more about why people don't just have simple family parties! Thanks for reading! Sorry for the short post, it's more of a question rather than a thought.

Coloring Hair

Hello readers! I'm back this week to talk about hair coloring and all of my crazy experiences with it.  I even want to talk about what I've learned and the recommendations I have so that you don't go in the direction I did! I'm sure this post will probably appeal more to the female readers, so guys, if you feel inclined to skip this one I think that would be okay!
Let me just start by saying I have colored my hair too many times. I did it against what everyone said because I figured my hair would always look fine. I learned after awhile that I was definitely wrong and should've listened to the millions of stylists that had to fix my hair. However, now you get the opportunity to read this post so I guess it works out.
The first time I colored my hair was in third grade and it was temporary pink coloring for crazy hair day that was meant to wash out. It didn't wash out. My hair stayed pink and we had to color it brown to fix it. This leads me to my first tip: temporary doesn't always mean temporary.
The second experience I had was when I went to Aveda institute to color my hair blonde with red lowlights. They colored it red with blonde highlights. Tip 2: don't go to a school.
I could go on for days about hair experiences but I'm going to end with my final tips: Don't bleach often, wait in between coloring, your hair actually can and will fall out,  dark colors will fade and must be kept up with, and above all: Take care of your hair afterwards!
     Thanks for reading, people!

Walking Dead (SPOILERS)

Hey people!  Today is Sunday because of course it is or I wouldn't be blogging! Anyways,  Sunday is the day Walking Dead plays each week and I am obsessed with the show.  Like after watching one episode I went and watched 4 seasons over thanksgiving break obsessed. If you watch the show, you know it's in a slightly weird spot right now with them being somewhere safe.  The thing I keep thinking about is what's going to go wrong?  Rick's group hasn't exactly had it easy and anywhere they go something happens. Although it's usually another group to mess things up, I think Rick has been hinting at some ideas. Or maybe it's just to calm Mister Dixon down. I didn't watch tonight's episode yet but based on the preview it looks like Aaron is chasing someone. I can only hope it's not Rick! Aaron (otherwise known as creepily small fingered guy)  and his group could be in for some trouble. Let me know where you think the rest of season 5 is going to go! Sorry for a short post,  but I have to watch this show!

Apple Versus Android

Hello again! Before I get started about my topic today I wanted to let you know I added a translate feature to my blog website! It's in the top right corner of the page and it gives you the ability to change the entire site to your desired language for more convenient reading!
Anyways, let's get down to what I'm really here to talk about. Apple Versus Android.  I just actually switched from the iPhone 5s to the Galaxy Note 4. They both have their pros and cons, however I definitely feel like I was blinded by apple. The galaxy has so many more features and unique abilities it's crazy I didn't know about it. Anything the iPhone can do, the galaxy can do it better and in different ways. There are 3 ways to take a screenshot! I don't know that I'll get into details unless someone specifically asks, but overall I would say go for the iPhone for simplicity or the galaxy for its features and durability. I mean the galaxy can take your heart rate. Who can compare with that?! Don't get me wrong I definitely love my apple iPhone, but if you think about it, what real changes have happened? I love the constant improvement and customisation of my galaxy!
Thanks for reading!  Remember to test out the translate feature on your desktop! You guys rock.

How I Keep Up

Hello, readers! I'm back this weekend with a post about how I keep up with week to week activities because it might be able to help some of you who regularly forget things or struggle with time management! Long story short, I have a ton of anxiety and it's something I've realized I struggle with on a regular basis. For me, I worry about forgetting things and not having enough time for things. I worry about making sure I keep up with all my hobbies on a strict schedule. It's kind of weird but as much as it bugs me that I need to write everything down, it's helped me so much! So that's what I want to talk about today. Writing things down and how I go about it.
So I'll start off by saying I can't function unless I have everything written down. This includes appointments every so often and even things I need to do daily like eat and brush my teeth. Constant reminders ensure I get everything done I have to do that day. After searching forever I found the app Wunderlist. This lets me right everything down and have my phone remind me. I can set the alarms/notifications to occur once, every other day, every week, every other week, and so on. This means I don't have to write the same thing over and over but my phone will automatically tell me every single day to brush my teeth or feed my bird. Also every other Monday I know I have to get my work schedule and go to life group and Sundays I write my blog. Basically I had to sit down once and plan out a typical week and now my phone tells me what I need to do.
The other option if you can take care of your normal daily activities alone is to just make a simple to do list for that week. This helps when you have a lot of random little things to do that are easy to forget about.
I guess I don't have much else to say about it. Basically I want to recommend Wunderlist to anyone who needs it and wanted to share how making lists and setting reminders has helped me. So, thanks for reading and I hope you'll check back next week!

50 Shades of People

Hello, readers!  Today I wanted to talk about the people I saw and what we experienced as theatre employees during the premier of 50 Shades of Grey in case anyone who isn't going to see it wanted to know what the crowd would've been like! So here are the main types of people that went to the premier.
The first and most obvious is girls. Groups of girls. This could range anywhere from one girl to 12 all going in a group. Each group was obnoxious in their own way and made indescribable comments before entering the movie theatre. Clearly expecting that the movie would've been way better than what the reviews said it would be.
The second group of people were couples. In each couple the female part of the picture seemed to have been the one who actually wanted to see the movie; while the guy was always the one who was silently following behind. With each guy came a new expression of sadness.
The third group that attended (or attempted to attend) the movie were teenagers who couldn't actually legally get into the movie. As hard as they tried they got nowhere fast. Entering different doors did nothing for them. Silly kids.  Try again another day.
The final group of people I saw attend the movie was single guys. As they entered the following conversation usually occurred:
Me: "Fifty Shades by yourself today?"
"No, my girlfriend is in the theater waiting." (insert nervous laugh)
Me: "Hmm. Whatever you say.."
It happened all too often to be true. Good try guys. You could've just said you were alone!
That's all I have for today, humans!  I hope you all enjoyed your Valentines Day and that you enjoyed this post almost as much! Thanks for reading!

Foot Tattoo Experience

Hello readers! As some of you may know, I went to Fargo to get my first tattoo yesterday afternoon! I don't exactly have a ton to say, considering that I still have little to no experience or knowledge on the subject; however I can share my experience for those who are thinking about getting a tattoo on their foot! The first thing that I experienced that I didn't think about was the twitching. Now, I don't know that this happens to everyone but after asking a few people it's pretty much a mixed bag with the majority saying they experienced the same thing I did. My foot twitched pretty consistently and it almost affected my tattoo in a really negative way. I do have a few smudges that are barely noticeable due to the twitching but nothing too bad. So I would say either research how to control that, or be prepared to hold your foot down. I couldn't control it and it wasn't because of the pain. There are just so many nerves in your foot that the tattoo gun will hit! The second piece of advice I would offer Is just not to drink or take ibuprofen or anything because they thin your blood and the tattoo will probably bleed a ton. Other than that be prepared for some pain! It's worth it if you really want the tattoo, though. I love how mine turned out and it's definitely a good idea to choose the artist you want and make sure everything is perfect before you get inked! Thanks for reading today's blog! I'll be back next Sunday with another post!

Fun Fact!

Hello readers! I'm back this week and it's actually not going to be a blog post that has tips for once! I know I post a lot of those because I always seem to have some sort of suggestion as I'm very opinionated. Today I'd like to share with you a fun fact that I learned recently. This may chock a few people, and for others it'll be old news. Anyways, here's what I found out!

Do you ever think about how chameleons change color and why? Apparently chameleons don't change color to fit in with their environment! Who knew? (This is where those of you who already knew can roll your eyes.) Chameleons actually change their colors based on their mood , aggression level, and if they're mating or not. Once I heard this, I had to dive a little deeper and figure out exactly how chameleons change their color. So look no further! I have here the most basic answer to the question. A chameleon's top layer of skin is clear! Their skin never changes color after all. They have cells in their bodies which change color. You can see this through their top layer of skin which makes it appear as if their actual skin is changing color. The cells all have very fancy names which I didn't think many people would care to hear about and it has a lot to do with cell pigmentation and molecules but nobody really needs all that science in their lives. Chameleons aren't the only species that have this color changing ability. Cuttlefish are another elegant example! So go check them out! Thanks so much for reading today. Feel free to share or do whatever it is you do! That's all I have for today. (:
